A fire place that uses a mix of timber and stone always appeals to everyone’s sense of comfort. The stone used is from the local Queenstown area while the mantel is crafted from recycled timber, with timber panelling above the mantlepiece.¬†

This is the ultimate statement of natures elements¬†and the human need for warmth on a chilly day. This fire place is located in a trendy bar/ restaurant in Queenstown, New Zealand. Shame that the TV has to spoil the effect. Interestingly enough, the TV felt warm to touch on the outer frame from the warmth of the fire. I don’t expect that the flat screen TV would have a very long life expectancy in this situation.
